Jeff                     Kinney

   Jeff Kinney is the author of the series Diary of a Wimpy Kid. He was born in 1971 in Maryland. He attended the University of Maryland. Before Diary of a Wimpy Kid he ran a cartoon strip called Igdoof in the campus newspaper and he knew he wanted to be a cartoonist. But Igdoof was a rejected.

   Afterward, he started writing down ideas for Diary of a Wimpy Kid which he hoped to turn it into a book. He worked on it for six years before publishing it online on Funbrain.com. It had more than 70 million visits and typically by more than 70,000 a day.

  In 2006, he signed a multi-book deal with publisher Harry N. Abrams to turn Diary of a Wimpy Kid into a print series.  

  Jeff has also created an online world called Poptropica. He is currently living in Massachusetts with his wife and two sons. He is also currently making a movie of Diary of a Wimpy Kid. And be sure to look out for Diary of a Wimpy Kid 4 coming this fall. See Ya!
